Happiness Writing Prompts

Geared for Lower Elementary

Imagine you could have any superpower in the world. Write a story about how you would use it to make people happy.

Think about someone in this school who makes you happy. Write them a letter thanking them for bringing smiles to your day.

Write a letter to a friend or family member telling them about a happy memory you shared together, and draw a picture to go with it.

Write a poem about your favorite type of food and why it makes you feel happy.

Geared for High School

Write a character sketch of a person who is happy all the time, even in the face of adversity. What motivates them, and how do they maintain their positive outlook on life?

Imagine a world where everyone is required to do one thing each day to make someone else happy. Write a short story about how this rule changes society for the better.

Write a personal essay about a time in your life when you felt truly happy. Describe what happened, how you felt, and what you learned from the experience.
